OUR FIVE FAVOURITE ANCHORAGES ON THE FRENCH RIVIERA

A day charter on the French Riviera is all about visiting the stunning bays in the area to take in the amazing landscapes and architecture of the region. There is simply nothing better than sipping a cold French Rosé amidst the breath-taking surrounds of the Côte D'Azur, or zipping around on a jet ski to get up-close to nature and the incredible houses.

When planning your day charter, one of the key things to think about is what bays you would like to visit. Wild Child Charters have compiled a list of our five favourite anchorages that our guests absolutely love. We can work with you to put together the perfect itinerary to be able to experience some of these beautiful gems.

1.    Calanque des deux frères

Situated in Théoule-sur-Mer between Port La Galère and Port la Figueirette, this stunning little bay is the perfect spot away from the crowds. The magnificent rocky background emits a beautiful red hue in the morning light and the lack of crowds make it a great place to go exploring on the jet ski. You can also see the famous Pierre Cardin designed pink bubble palace from the bay; one of the more interesting and iconic properties on the Côte D’Azur.

2.    Iles des LerinS

A short hop away from Cannes, this group of small islands offers visitors a unique combination of flora and fauna, as well as an unusual history that includes the mysteries of the Man in the Iron Mask and the tranquillity of Cistercian monks. Get here early to get the best spot as it does get busy. You can enjoy a casual lunch on board with pizza delivered from the famous Pizza Catamaran, or head over to the northern side to escape the crowds and dine at the very famous La Guérite, for some star-spotting and delicious food. This is regarded as one of the most iconic and beautiful anchorages in the Mediterranean.

3.    Bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer

Villefranche-sur-Mer is one of the most charming, if not the most charming authentic French fishing village on the French Riviera. In the heart of the Cote d’Azur, with Nice on one side and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat on the other, it offers a great place to shelter when the sea gets a bit bumpy. We also love the pristine water and heading ashore for a spot of lunch at the ultra-cool Plage de Passable restaurant. This is definitely a favourite bay of Wild Child Charters and is a perfect spot for taking out the paddle board for a leisurely float around the coast line.

4.    Anse des Fossés and Anse des Fossettes

These lovely hidden gems, this time on the southern part of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat are two small bays that offer stunningly crystal-clear blue water, making them the perfect spot for some swimming and snorkelling. These bays are a superb place to finish your charter with a sundowner, whilst listening to the soundtrack of cicadas in the surrounding pine trees.

5.    Plage Mala

This in another favourite spot of Wild Child Charters’, offering an absolutely charming little bay close to the Port of Cap D’Ail and Monaco. It boasts super clear water, a cave to swim or paddle board into, and two beautiful beach restaurants. This is a great-fun place for an afternoon of eating, drinking and jet skiing. Here you can be picked up on board to dine at La Reserve or Eden Plage Mala, with the latter also delivering a basic menu to guests on board should you wish.
